Tel Aviv, a city along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea becomes home for the first Hooters restaurant in the holy land of Israel. Reuters reported yesterday that Ofer Ahiraz owns the Hooters that will open this summer and torment the people of Tel Aviv.
As if we haven’t tormented the middle-east enough already, we’re going to place a Hooters there. Personally, I’m not a fan of hooters, because Nick and I found a chicken talon in our wings a few years back; haven’t been there since. For a Hooters to open in Israel is just.. wrong!

Hooters is an enterprise born out of the capitalist world in which you and I thrive. They will have done their homework, and after much political and business consideration, have decided that Israel’s ’shequel’ is worth taking.
It reminds me of a recent post of yours regarding the ‘network party’ invite, and how you despised it because of the peer pressure, and how it promoted sales that were made out of feelings of guilt. Capitalism, pure and simple, and no different as to how it is that you and I want to drive the newest BMW, or drink in the newest bar in town.
It isn’t about the food. I’d like to think that it isn’t about the hooters, it is probably more about the success that all parties will have by being involved in something that they can classify as ‘new’. Capitalism (which I am not opposed to) thrives on peoples perception of value, rather than the truth, and Hooters in Israel ain’t the necessarily the truth.
Peace. Good to talk, and are you going to An Event Apart Seattle? The wife and I are going and it would be good to shoot some s**t?

3THIS HOOTERS “NEWS” IS JUST A LOAD OF BOVINE DEFECATION. ISRAELIES ARE CHEAP AND NOT KNOWN AS HIGH ROLLING BIG TIPPERS. THE HORNY JEWS WILL JUST COME TO SIT AND OGLE AND LEAVE A MINIMAL GRATUITY. THE WAITRESSES WILL GET DISGUSTED IN A HURRY. MOST OF THE HOOTERS STAFF INITIALLY HAD TO BE IMPORTED FROM THE UNITED STATES TO GET THE BALL ROLLING. THEY WERE PROBABLY PAID A LARGE BONUS. WHO THE STEADY CLIENTELLE WILL BE OVER THE LONG RUN IS A MYSTERY. THE CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS, WHO MAKE UP A SUBSTANTIAL SEGMENT OF THE TOURIST POPULATION COME TO SEE THE BIRTHPLACE OF JESUS, NOT TO SEE TITTIES. AS STATED, THE NATIVE ISRAELI POPULATION ARE NOT GOING TO SHELL OUT THEIR HARD EARNED SHECKELS ON TIPS FOR TITTIES. THE RELIGIIOUS COMMUNITY OF ISRAEL CONSIDERS THE WHOLE UNDERTAKING A SHONDER. TOURISTS FROM AMERICA AND EUROPE ARE NOT GOING TO SPEND THE LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY REQUIRED FOR A VACATION IN ISRAEL TO SEE TITTIES. THE ONLY ARABS THAT WOULD DEIGN TO ENTER A HOOTERS WOULD BE SUICIDE BOMBERS. WHO THE HELL ARE THE CUSTOMERS GOING TO BE?
