If one time wasn’t enough, another occurance of someone stealing money from my paypal account has been delivered; again. This is the second time in two years that someone has managed to gain access to my paypal account and toy with my available balance, send themselves money and disturb my checking account.
Granted, I am extremely furious at the individual who has managed to do this, however, who is really at fault? I definitely do not blame myself, because I take the appropriate measures against anyone gaining access to my account. The password I was using for my paypal account was an alpha-numeric combination of more than 15 absolutely random characters! Therefore, I feel as though I did my part.
However, somehow, someone managed to gain access. Did they reset my password? I guess that wouldn’t be too difficult because anyone I have ever written a check to has just about all the information they would need to do so. I’m not giving hints on how to get into particular paypal accounts, however, despite the privacy issues, all it takes is a single check.
It gives you the account number associated with the account, most likely, and typically has the drivers licenses number of the individual who wrote the check. That is two of the three pieces of information required to gain access. All thats left is an emailed link, which seriously isn’t too complicated to just find.
All in all, an extremely large sum of money was transfered out of my account and into someone elses. Thankfully, Paypal caught the transactions and I verified it was fraud, they’re now working to return my funds. All in all, paypal — you lose mate. I’m going to cancel my account as soon as my funds are returned to me.
Our review is complete and we have restored your account.
We appreciate your patience and thank you for your help in making PayPal
the safest and most trusted online payment solution.Sincerely,
PayPal
I appreciate you returning my account back to a useable status Paypal, I clearly asked you to leave my account locked down until the money was back into the account and you provided me with a way of securing my account. I don’t want security questions, I don’t want to be able to change my password. When will we, the users, have options we require?
As an individual who takes the measures to protect this type of event from happening and still getting screwed, I can only imagine how it is for normal people.

3Uh oh, I better break up with him before he gets arrested. I don’t want to be associated with a felon… is this a felony, or is that if it’s over 50,000 dollars? I don’t know much about crimes.

7I just want the money from the D2 items that we sold. Seriously, it’s been like 5 years, and either they return our items or they give us our freaking $1800.

8That is disgraceful security breach but the thing that annoys me most about PayPal is that they copy and paste generic responses for every question or problem you have. It is like they have not trained their staff enough to write an individual response or that they don’t trust them enough to give them the authority to adequately deal with each issue on a individual basis.
